Real Time Sub-ppb Ethylene (C2H4) Analyzer

ETD-300

Cemtek offers you the world's most sensitive, compact, fast and user friendly ethylene analyzer based on the newest laser technology with fast response time for real time measurements. The Ethylene Analyzer, ETD-300 by Sensor Sense has a detection limit (2σ) of 0.3 ppbv with time resolution of 5 seconds.

Currently the ETD-300 is used for monitoring dynamic processes in plant physiology, molecular biology, post-harvest research, microbiology, ecology, environmental monitoring and medical applications around the world.

Overview

Why choose the ETD-300?

The ETD-300 is specially designed for non-specialists; it's single-button operation and specially designed software makes it easy to use for workers of all skill levels. Ethylene released by any sample from very small to very large in accordance with the application can be monitored.

The robustness of the ETD-300 was proven by an airborne application on board of a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) research aircraft for measurements in the upper troposphere / lower stratosphere. The analyzer performed superbly and was not affected by the heavy mechanical vibrations and noise, interferences with other atmospheric gases or changes in atmospheric pressure and temperature.

If you are interested how the ETD-300 ethylene analyzer can be used in your application area, please contact us. We will be happy to assist you in making an informed decision.

What is Ethylene and why does it need to be measured?

Ethylene (C2H4) is a naturally occuring gaseous plant hormone that in its purest state is a colorless, flammable gas having a sweet, unpleasant odor and taste. Ethylene is responsible for signalling changes during seed germination, growth, flower and fruit development, programmed cell death and more. Usually obtained from petroleum and natural gas it is used commercially to ripen various fruits postharvest and can be explosive if it reaches high concentrations.

Though it is a naturally occuring gas it can also be created through combustion and other processes, if it reaches high concentrations the results can be explosive, therefore monitoring its level is extremely important.
