Pre-calibrated for your application the NH3 Laser Analyzer includes a touch screen interface and on-board PC for local/remote control and real time display/recording of results. It is a low pressure, high resolution instrument whose continuous use can reduce the need for costly air heater cleanings.
Overview
Why choose the Cemgas NH3 Laser Analyzer?
If you are looking to maximize profits at a gas turbine installation by minimizing NH3 injection, monitor NH3 emissions at a fertilizer plant or are interesting in process optimization to enhance revenue, our analyzer is the answer to your needs.
Significant cost savings can be achieved by having accurate, real-time NH3 slip measurements and all different temperatures and loads. The CEMGAS 5000 NH3 Laser Analyzer utilizes Optical Feedback Cavity Enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy (OFCEAS) IR technology to give superior performance for the measurement of NH3.
Designed for standalone operation with minimum maintenance it offers accurate low level measurements with no cross interference. The robust design contains no moving optical parts and is a complete, reliable, low-cost and easy-to-use solution for NH3 analysis in the monitoring of combustion process and pure gas.

What is NH3 and why should it be measured?
NH3 commonly referred to as ammonia, is a gaseous compound and is used in products ranging from smelling salts to agricultural fertilizers. The EPA defines the biological and ecological effects of ammonia and it's need for monitoring under section 304(a)(1) of the Clean Water Act.
High concentrations of ammonia in the environment can lead to extremely damaging effects. Due to ammonia's affinity for water, it's introduction into an aquatic environment causes adverse reactions to aquatic life. Elevated concentrations of NH3 effect fish growth, respiratory function, proliferation of gill tissue, organ weights and ultimately cause fish kill. The toxicity of ammonia increases with temperature.
For Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) technologies, not monitoring NH3 can lead to high ammonia slip which can potentially contribute to problems such as the formation of ammonium salts on air preheater and other downstream surfaces, Ammonium Chloride plume from the stack, ammonia odor in fly ash and the emission of gaseous ammonia. Monitoring NH3 can also help reduce the the need and costs associated with periodic air heater cleaning.
